Siwindumedia.com – Gibran Rakabuming Raka was absent when he was declared as the vice presidential candidate (bacawapres) of Prabowo Subianto. The declaration was made by Prabowo at his residence on Kertanegara Street, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Sunday evening (22/10/2023).
According to Prabowo, Gibran was not present at the official announcement because it was attended by party leaders who are members of KIM. The announcement by KIM also serves as the official declaration of KIM about his running mate for vice president.
“All of us agree to support Prabowo Subianto as the presidential candidate of KIM for 2024-2029 and Gibran Rakabuming Raka as the vice presidential candidate of KIM. This is also the declaration that we convey to the general public,” he said.
Prabowo made the declaration after a meeting with several Chairmen of KIM, including the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, the Chairman of PAN, Zulkifli Hasan, and the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
Prabowo stated that with this announcement, there will be no presidential and vice presidential declaration from KIM tomorrow.
He said that the Prabowo-Gibran pair will register with the KPU on Wednesday (25/10/2023) to come.
“There will be no (declaration at JCC), I think there is no need for further questions, this is a unanimous decision, clear, and consensus. We are ready to move forward for Indonesia’s progress,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the DPP of the Gerindra Party, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, said that only the chairmen and general secretaries of the parties in KIM were invited to the forum.
“It is true that the invitation was for a meeting of chairmen and general secretaries of KIM,” said Dasco.
