by -44 Views

Pirelli, the new sole tyre supplier for MotoGP starting next year, has commenced delivering the second batch of 80 tyres to MotoGP teams. Previously, Pirelli distributed tyres to Ducati, Aprilia, Yamaha, Honda, and KTM, with KTM being the first to test its 2027 prototype in Jerez. All manufacturers have been evaluating their new 850cc bikes and 2027-spec tyres, leading to the initiation of a new batch distribution. The upcoming MotoGP season will witness significant technical changes, including a shift from 1000cc to 850cc engines, reduced aerodynamics, and sustainable fuel, along with Pirelli replacing Michelin as the official tyre supplier. Manufacturers have been actively testing the new prototypes with Honda, KTM, and Yamaha conducting tests in races like Sepang and Jerez. Ducati recently performed a shakedown of its 850cc prototype at Misano, while Aprilia is gearing up for its first test in Jerez. Honda will join Ducati in testing at Mugello with Nakagami leading the development of the 850cc RC214V. All manufacturers have ordered a second set of 80 tyres from Pirelli in preparation for the upcoming season.
